Sri Sri Shyam Binodini Kunja

About Our Ashram

Living a Spiritually Awakened Life

Sri Sri Shyam Binodini Kunja, is a hundred year old heritage Vaishnava Ashram settled along the banks of the holy land of Nabadwip, established over a century ago by our Gurudeb's forefather Srila Ananda Gopal Goswami Prabhu's father Late Śrīla Nīlakānta Goswāmī in tribute to his beloved wife Śrīmatī Śhyāma-Binodinī Goswāminī.

This venerable Ashram is today managed under the devoted stewardship of the Sri Sri Radhamadan Gopal Sevak Sangha, a humble religious and charitable trust officially registered with the Sub-Registrar's office in Nadia, West Bengal, India.

Our Gurudeb Srila Kandarpa Gopala Goswami served as the President of the |Sri Sri Radha Madan Gopal Sevak Sangha Trust| until his Disappearance Day on October 8, 2025.

The Ashram is now being managed under the stewardship of President Sri Gobinda Gopal Mitra, alongside the trusted devotees and Trustees of the Ashram.

About Our Visionary Seer

Prabhupada Śrīla Kandarpa Gopāla Goswāmī

|| Oct 05, 1954 – Oct 08, 2025 ||

A deeply revered scholar of Vaishnava philosophy, Prabhupada Srila Kandarpa Gopal Goswami, was the 14th (fourteenth) descendent of the illustrious lineage of Param Dayālu Vaiṣhṇavāchārya Śrīlā Advaita Āchārya, who spiritually summoned and subsequently guided the ever glorious Vaishnava leader Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, revered as the reincarnation of Swayam Bhagwan Sri Krishna by devotees of Vaishnava philosophy.

Our Gurudeb was a deeply revered scholar whose profound knowledge encompassed teachings of the profound holy texts ranging from Srimad Bhagavatam, Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita, and numerous other Hindu Vaishnava literatures.

He was also the esteemed author of two significant literary works in Bangla (Bengali) titled,
||Vilāpa Kusumāñjaliḥ|| and ||Sri Advaita Prakash||.

Moreover, as a silent preacher of Vaishnava philosophy, he has inspired a multitude of disciples across Bengal, Assam, Tripura,  expanding across borders into Bangladesh, and the U.S.

Due to serious health complications, he was constrained to restrict his movements within the Ashram compound for the last couple of years; where he continued to share his spiritual insights through regular discourses on sacred scriptures until this very month when he finally bid adieu to the mortal plane and left us with a void that can never be fulfilled.

We could only hope to be able to walk on his path of guidance of  moral living, spiritual conscience, and showcasing compassion towards all. May his holy soul forever rest in liberation and peace.

About Our Gurudeb

Prabhupada Śrī Minānka Gopāla Goswāmī

Gurudeb Prabhupada Śrīlā Miṅānka Gopāla Goswāmī is also the fourteenth descendant of the esteemed lineage of Param Dayālu Vaiṣhṇavāchārya Śrīlā Advaita Āchārya, and the benevolent younger brother of Gurudeb Prabhupada Śrīlā Kandarpa Gopāla Goswāmī.

Much akin to our Gurudeb, Śrīlā Miṅānka Goswāmi Prabhu is also a deeply venerated Hindu scholar, deeply revered for his in-depth understanding of the ancient sacred Vaiṣhṇava texts, sharing remarkable spiritual wisdom that he has accumulated from the Vedic Purānas, and for conducting the most spiritually stirring and invoking Pujās during all holy occasions in Vaiṣhṇava life, under the Bangabda Bangla calendar, also known as 'Bangla Bocḥhor' (Solar calendar). Like all the venerated Gurus of his lineage, he too has inspired a multitude of disciples all across India, and expanding onto other nations including the U.S.
